UX Community
The South Florida User Experience Meetup
The South Florida UXPA Chapter
Role: Founder, Organizer
I started the South Florida User Experience Meet-up in 2008 in a coffee shop. Over a decade later we are still growing with over 2,500 members, and proud to support the growing communities around us.
UXPA International
Role: Dir. of Web 2019
Dir. of Marketing & Communications 2017-2018
I feel privileged to have been nominated into such an amazing group of individuals working together to better the UX community internationally. My term ran from 2017-2019 and I am thrilled with all that I have accomplished. I was able to grow our marketing presence and expanding our mail campaigns, as well as migrate and build out the foundations of the new website from the ground up to be more scalable, automated, and supportive for this non-profit organization.
Florida International University
Role: Adjunct Faculty 2012 & 2013
I am thrilled to have been able to teach at this leading international university the 'Introduction to Human-Computer Interaction'. Working with the students each semester was fun and energized my own work. It was a welcome challenge to step into the world of instruction with lesson plans, grading rubrics and testing. I enjoyed introducing the topic to many students learning it for the first time and watching as their perspectives broadened and appreciation for design exploded.
Local Community
I’ve been fortunate to work at companies that prioritize giving back, and I’ve used my service days to give back to my local community. While serving on the Product Development and Information Services Advisory Board at Ultimate Software, I was also able to help plan and participate in many larger impact events. I have had the great pleasure of donating time to the following organizations:
Habitat for Humanity
ARC Broward
KIDs in Distress
Feeding South Florida
Broward Partnership for the Homeless
Women in Distress
Rebuilding Together
Mid-Ohio Food Collective
